Men’s Ministry Leadership

Jay Crouse, who is the Director of Men’s Ministry for the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina,  has been actively involved in ministry to men for over twenty-five years and participating full-time since leaving the private sector in 1999.

Sean Coughlin, a member of The Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul, (Charleston), is the CEO of FaithStreet.com, a software company for faith communities. Sean leads FaithStreet’s partnership with over 26,000 churches across the country. Sean graduated from Harvard College and the University of Virginia School of Law. He lives in downtown Charleston with his wife, Rachel, their sons, James and Samuel, and their Labrador, Sister.

Russ Gantt, a member of St. Paul’s, is the Chair of the Men’s Summit and has been active in men’s ministry and discipling men for 30 years.

Chet Houston is a retired U.S. Marine and member of the Parish Church of St Helena’s in Beaufort, SC.

Lee Jones, a member of Prince George, is the Chair of Behold The Man. Lee and his wife have been active in lay ministry for quite some time.  He has a passion for men’s ministry which includes Wild at Heart – Men’s Retreat. Lee is also involved in the church Grandparent ministry.

The Rev. Dr. Jady Koch

The Rev. Dr. John D. “Jady” Koch, a graduate of Washington & Lee University (2000) and Trinity School for Ministry (2007), earned his Doctorate in Systematic Theology at the University of Humboldt in Berlin, Germany in 2014. In addition to various articles and lectures, he is the author of The Distinction Between Law and Gospel as the Basis and Boundary of Theological Reflection, which was published in 2016 (Mohr/Siebeck) and explores the interrelationship between the doctrine of justification by faith alone and the preaching and teaching ministry of the church. Having served churches in Berlin, Vienna, and Louisville, KY, Jady is currently the assistant Rector at Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant and is excited to continue his work in bringing the truths of the Gospel to bear on the everyday realities of life in our modern world. He and his wife, Liza, have five children (Tucker, John, Carrington, Davis and Garland), a corgi named Lilly,  and about a thousand house plants.

Newman Lawrence is the Rector of St. Jude’s Church in Walterboro, SC.  He has had a passion for Men’s Ministry and the outdoors for quite awhile.  Being able to combine those two areas through hikes, retreats, BASIC weekends, and more has been a joy.  He strongly believes that when men have a growing faith and walk together in discipleship the church is a healthier place and families are impacted greatly.  Newman is married to his wife Trish and they have three children from embryo adoption, Hank, Huck, and Mary Margaret.

Richard Moore

Richard Moore, a member of St. Philip’s Church, Charleston, is the Chair of the Christian Men’s Conference.

Les Sease is a member of Christ St. Paul’s Church and is the Hike Ministry Coordinator.

John Sosnowski is the Associate Rector at Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter. He and his wife Patti have been married for 40 years. They are the parents of Liza Coville (husband John) and Trish Lawrence (husband Newman), and the grandparents of Allen, Hank, Huck, and Mary Margaret.
