This team-mate will work with the Church Property Manager to keep the church and parish buildings prepared for services and meetings. To be successful in this position, the selected candidate must first have a heart for service, enjoy working with staff and volunteers, be comfortable with time sensitive assignments, accept schedule changes, have a willingness to be always helpful, and comfortable with their statement of faith. Typical duties include working with volunteers and staff to prepare the church, grounds, and facilities for weekday services, weekday events, weekend events, Sunday services, weddings, funerals, and caring for the Church’s historic property and artifacts. Included in these activities are preparing church for services, setting-up and tearing down tables and chairs for events, helping to keep the facilities and church artifacts clean and orderly, and other assigned duties as required. As a member of two-person team, rotating weekend duties are required. The Sexton must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50lbs. A full list of typical duties is attached.
