Healing Ministry

Healing Prayer Ministry in the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina

We seek to support the vision of the Diocese through the development and resourcing of healing prayer ministries throughout this Diocese and the wider Province so that all might be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Resourcing Parish Ministry

o We seek to resource existing ministries of healing prayer in the Diocese.

o We consult and collaborate with parish leaders exploring healing prayer ministry.

o We offer teaching and equipping in healing prayer to parish leaders and parishioners to promote healing prayer ministry throughout the Diocese.

Resourcing Diocesan-Wide Ministry

o We host a weekly Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayer in the Diocese (currently based at Church of Our Saviour, Johns Island) and other services with healing prayer as invited.

o We invite and coordinate prayer ministers to serve at diocesan events (Diocesan Convention, others).

o We interface with Camp Jubilee/Student Ministry for healing prayer training.

o We consult and assist in leading prayer ministry and training for Family, Outreach, and Spiritual Growth ministries (e.g., Daughters of the King; Daughters of the Holy Cross; Order of St. Luke; Men’s, Women’s and Grandparenting Ministries; Global Missions; Cursillo; Deacons’ School; Church Planting, among others).

o We network with leaders of healing prayer in the Diocese.

o We provide prayer ministry and soul care to Diocesan clergy and leaders as requested and as part of the Clergy Retreat and Clergy Spouses’ Retreat.

o We offer retreats, conferences, days of intercessory prayer, and other opportunities to promote prayer in the life of the Diocese.

o We curate the Prayer Room at the Cathedral Church as a space dedicated to worship and prayer which also holds written and media resources for healing prayer ministry.

 Resourcing Provincial Ministry (and beyond)

o We serve the Next Generation Leadership Initiative as invited.

o We assist with teaching and ministry as part of the Anglican Leadership Institute team.

o We offer teaching and ministry with compatible healing prayer organizations.

o We oversee Fellowship of Christ the Healer USA, an annual gathering of leaders in healing prayer ministry.

o We participate as team members in parish/diocesan missions as called.

How can we serve you as you seek to equip the saints for the work of healing ministry?
