The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina has more than 16,000 baptized members spread across the eastern and coastal portion of the state.
Based in the lowcountry of South Carolina, the Diocese counts among its members several of the oldest, operating churches in the nation. We are a member diocese of The Anglican Church in North America.
We continue as faithful Anglicans under the leadership of The Rt Revd Chip Edgar, the Bishop of the Diocese. In March of 2025, during our Diocesan convention, Bishop Edgar presented the Diocese with her new vision statement: “Rooted in Scripture and formed by the Anglican tradition, we are seeking to build a vital community of faith through planting, revitalizing, and developing local churches.”
