St. Paul’s Tea Room
April 1, 2019 @ 11:00 am - April 5, 2019 @ 3:00 pm
The Tea Room and Gift Shop at St. Paul’s Summerville is set for Mar. 25-29 and Apr. 1-5. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at Doar Hall on the St. Paul’s campus, 316 W. Carolina. The Tea Room and Gift Shop will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
This yearly event at St. Paul’s is a harbinger of springtime in Summerville. For two weeks each year, the church becomes a pop-up restaurant and gift shop, providing delicious food, friendly service, and beautiful gifts, all for a good cause. Since the first event in 2005, the ministry has raised more than $600,000 for St. Paul’s outreach programs—locally, regionally, and globally.
The tea room will offer its signature dishes, such as tomato pie, she-crab soup, okra soup, and homemade desserts, along with a variety of salads and sandwiches. The gift shop will showcase the work of local artisans, native plants and estate items.
“At its core, the St. Paul’s Tea Room and Gift Shop is all about love,” said Tripp Jeffords, rector at St. Paul’s. “It’s an outpouring of our love for God and for our Summerville community. Our parishioners’ bonds of love are strengthened as they do God’s work together, and our church is able to love and serve our wonderful friends in the greater Summerville area.”
All proceeds of the Tea Room and Gift Shop are donated to local, national, and global ministries. Some of the beneficiaries include Impact Ministries Food Distribution at St. Paul’s, Dorchester Habitat for Humanity, Dorchester County Community Outreach, Salvation Army, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Water Mission, and dozens more helping organizations at home and abroad.
Guests may make reservations for groups of 8 or more for the 11:30 a.m. seating by calling (843) 873-1991. All other seating will be first come, first served. The tea room will provide takeout orders.
