Matthew Rivers will be ordained to the sacred order of deacons on Tuesday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Chapel, Charleston.

Matthew, a member of St. John’s Chapel, first sensed a call on his life (based on Isaiah 6:8) when he was six years old. Under the discipleship of the Rev. Dr. Dallas H. Wilson, that call – to be a Pastor and Priest – was confirmed, and both Matthew and his wife Henrietta graduated from Trinity School for Ministry with MDiv degrees on May 12. They are returning to Charleston to serve at St. John’s Chapel, where Matthew has been called as Vicar. Matthew asks that everyone pray for him and Henrietta that God will continue to bless them as they seek to fulfill the call of God on their lives.
