January 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
By the grace of God and the consent of the people Bishop Chip Edgar will institute and induct the Rev. Dr. Roger Revell as the Fourth Rector of Christ the King on Sunday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King on Pawleys Island. Your prayers and presence are welcomed. A reception will follow. Clergy: red stoles.
Born and raised in Rock Hill (York County), Roger happily returned to his home state of South Carolina in 2022 to serve as the Rector at Christ the King in Pawleys Island. He is married to Cindy, and together they have two children, Audrey and Hugo. Cindy, who is French, works in the international relief & development sector and has supported projects all around the world over her 15-year career. Make sure to ask her about the horse milk hospitality ritual she partook in while supporting a grant in Kyrgyzstan! Roger and Cindy met in Vancouver, BC, where Roger served as a co-church planter and then Associate Rector at St Peter’s Fireside, within the ANiC Diocese, Western Canada. They both hold degrees in theology from Regent College. Between their time in Vancouver and their arrival back in South Carolina, Roger and Cindy lived in England for five years, where Roger completed a PhD while working in college chaplaincy and assisting in several parishes.
