The Rev. Luke Deman will be Instituted as the Rector of St. Timothy’s Church, Summerville, at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 19th, 2022.  
 
Luke received a BS in Computer Information Systems from The College of Charleston. He was sent to seminary as a joint venture from St. Paul’s, Summerville, and their new church plant, St. Timothy’s, in 2016. He received his Master of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA ,in 2019. By the grace of God Luke was called back to St. Timothy’s, where he was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate and then the Priesthood.  He was made the Rector of St. Timothy’s on March 1, 2020. Because of the COVID pandemic, his institution was delayed until a more favorable season.
 
“My wife Jennifer and I still can’t believe that this is what we get to do!” said Luke.  The Demans live in Summerville with their children, Oscar (10) and Marcie (5).

Most gracious Father, the Giver of all good and perfect gifts, in your wise providence you appoint leaders for the mission of your Church: Give grace to this your servant, to whom the charge of this Congregation is now given: so empower him with truth of sound doctrine, and endue him with holiness of life, that he may faithfully serve before you to the glory of your great Name and the benefit of your holy Church through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
