Alonzo Crawford and Kurt Walters to be Ordained to the Transitional Diaconate May 7, 2026
By the Grace of God and the Consent of the People, Bishop Chip Edgar, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, will ordain Mr. Alonzo Deshawn Crawford and Mr. Kurt Matthew Walterts to the Sacred Order of Deacons on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 6 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Delafield, Wisconsin.
Alonzo Crawford
A native of Kentucky, Alonzo Crawford earned a B.A. degree from Murray State University and a Master’s of Library Science degree from the University of Kentucky. Alonzo is currently a senior M.Div. student at Nashotah House Theological Seminary. Prior to seminary, Alonzo served as Director of Youth Ministry at Christ Church Anglican, Mount Pleasant. Alonzo has been married to Lauren for 12 years and they have two daughters.
Kurt Walters
Kurt Walters will graduate in May with a Master of Divinity from Nashotah House Theological Seminary. He has completed internships at St. James Anglican Church, Newport Beach and St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Delafield, as well as chaplaincy training at St. Camillus Campus, where he focused on memory care and assisted living settings.
Kurt was raised in an Air Force family and grew up living in various parts of the United States. Before entering seminary, he spent over 15 years in sales management. He is married to Danielle, a professor of English at Charleston Southern University, and together they have two children, Adele and Conrad.
