The Clergy Renewal of Vows will be held Tuesday, May 18 at the Cathedral of St. Luke & St. Paul in Charleston. We are eager to offer this opportunity to re-gather, and commit ourselves to the calling of ordained ministry together. The day will have some nuances, as the City of Charleston still has some directives we will incorporate into our day.

Vesting (10:15-10:45 am):

Wellbrock Hall-The Cathedral (White Stoles, please)
In order to accommodate the need to continue socially distancing, for those who have not yet been vaccinated, or are health-compromised, you may wear your mask, and bring your vestments, to vest, in Wellbrock Hall. We ask that you exit the Hall as soon as you are vested, and “visit” with one another in the Bishop Allison Close (courtyard) until it is time to line up for the processional.

Seating in the Cathedral:

All vaccinated clergy are welcome to sit on the main sanctuary floor. Masks are optional. For those who have not been vaccinated, are health-compromised or prefer additional social distance—you are welcome to be seated in the balcony.

Announcements during the Service

In lieu of a formal meeting with the Bishop, following the service, Bishop Lawrence is choosing to use the announcement period of the Renewal Service to cover those important newsworthy items. This will allow for a purely social picnic lunch on The Cathedral grounds, for all who choose to partake.

This year we are inviting clergy spouses to join us for both the service and the outdoor luncheon afterward. If your spouse will be joining us, please note that on the sign-up form.

Lunch on the Grounds

A box lunch will be provided, for all who pre-register, and indicate their preference here.  Bishop Lawrence would like to bless our clergy with this time, to reunite and reconnect!
