The Rt Revd Chip Edgar, Bishop of The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina will ordain the Rev. Laura Beth Bowman to the Sacred Order of Priests on Sunday, November 6 at 3:30 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross on Sullivan’s Island. A reception will follow. Clergy are asked to wear red stoles.

Laura came to the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina when she moved to North Myrtle Beach and joined Grace Parish (in Little River) following her retirement from the Pennsylvania State Police. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Penn State University, and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, PA. Over the past year, Laura has served as a transitional deacon at Church of the Holy Cross, Sullivan’s Island. Following her ordination to the priesthood, Laura will remain on staff at Holy Cross and will serve as the Assistant Rector. In her spare time, Laura volunteers as a Crisis Chaplain with Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, which provides emergency services for Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties.
