Applicants Sought for Youth Commission

The Diocesan Youth Commission is seeking rising high school sophomore-senior applicants for the 2023-2024 school year. The Youth Commission is a vital way we raise up generations of students formed in Christ who transform churches, communities, and culture. This team exists to love, learn, and lead together. By dwelling in the love of the Father and learning from our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we can lead by following the Holy Spirit together. The deadline for this year’s applicants is August 15, 2023.

What’s it like to serve on the Youth Commission? Hear from our last cohort of Youth Commissioners!

  • “Youth Commission represents an exceptional opportunity for high schoolers to serve in the Anglican community. The team is able to experience first-hand the joy of what it means to be a servant in the Church.” –Andrew O’Dell Jr.
  • “If you love God, have a passion for serving others, and want to have a ton of fun: you should join the Youth Commission. It will give you an opportunity to be a leader as a young person in the diocese, and it will help you to grow your faith in Christ!” –Brian Wamsley
  • Youth commission offers the ability to serve in group leadership with teens all around South Carolina who love the Lord, want to laugh, show kindness and compassion, and lead others in their walk with Christ. If this is something you would love to be apart of, APPLY APPLY APPLY! It was the best decision I made in high school. While I’m too old for Youth Commission now, I can call on anyone who served with me and know that they have my back! –Adelaide Shirley

Four Full-Time Student Ministry Positions Open in Diocese

“If you know someone called to student ministries, tell them to consider our diocese. Imagine stepping into an incredible local church with a network of youth ministry leaders who are ready to pray, serve, grow, and collaborate with you,” says Hunter Myers, Canon for Student Ministries. “This is what you have in ADOSC. I truly believe this is the best diocese in our province to serve and disciple teenagers. We have great churches, a long, healthy history of student discipleship, and young people who are eager to follow Jesus in an increasingly post-Christian world. Pray, explore these open positions, and boldly follow God’s leading as we all steward our young people into the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! In fact, my number is (803)-292-7983. Call me directly if you desire to discern student ministry in ADOSC!”

The four full-time positions are at Christ Church Anglican, Mt. Pleasant, St. Michael’s, Charleston, St. Paul’s, Summerville and St. Jude’s, Walterboro.  Learn more.
