There is something especially meaningful about reaching Cursillo #200. Two hundred weekends represent far more than a number. They represent countless prayers, acts of service, friendships, moments of grace, and lives touched by Christ’s love. As we prepare for this historic weekend, we pause with grateful hearts to celebrate what God has done and look with joyful expectation toward what He will continue to do.
Cursillo #200 will be held February 25–28, 2027, at the Church of the Cross in Bluffton, South Carolina, where candidates and team members will gather for a special weekend of prayer, fellowship, worship, and renewal. Ellen Walsh, Lay Rector for Cursillo #200, has prayerfully chosen the theme “Fruit That Will Last,” rooted in John 15:16:
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…” — John 15:16 (NIV)
These words remind us that Cursillo is not simply about one weekend. Christ calls and appoints each of us to go forth and bear fruit—to live out our faith through love, service, friendship, prayer, and encouragement. The fruit of those efforts often continues long after the weekend ends, reaching into families, churches, communities, and generations.
Cursillo #200 gives us a beautiful opportunity to celebrate that lasting fruit. We give thanks for those who have served before us, those who continue to serve today, and those who will carry this ministry forward into the future. Every prayer offered, every friendship formed, every act of service, and every life encouraged is part of the fruit God continues to grow.
As we prepare for Cursillo #200, we invite the entire Fourth Day community to surround this weekend in prayer. Pray for Ellen and the team, each candidate, the Church of the Cross community, and everyone who will play a part in this special weekend. Pray that hearts will be open, faith will be renewed, and the Holy Spirit will guide every moment.
Most of all, may we remember that we are not simply celebrating what has been. We are celebrating what God is still growing.
Two hundred Cursillos. Countless lives touched. Fruit that will last.
May Cursillo #200 be a joyful celebration of God’s faithfulness and a reminder of our calling to go forth, bear fruit, and let the love and light of Christ shine through us.
