The Very Rev. Shay Gaillard was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina and grew up attending the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul. After college, he was in youth ministry for 10 years as the camp director at Camp St. Christopher and the Diocesan Coordinator. He graduated from what is now Trinity Anglican Seminary in 2004. Shay served at St. Paul’s in Conway as an Associate for 2.5 years and at Good Shepherd in Charleston as the Rector for 10 years. Shay is currently the Rector of St. Helena’s in Beaufort (since 2016) and the Dean of the Beaufort Deanery. He is married to Tara for 30 years and they have four daughters.
