So that you might know a little more about Becky and me, I have been a military policeman (1971-73), a lawyer in Washington, D.C. (1975-1993), a seminarian (1993-1996), and an ordained priest (1996 - present), first in Pittsburgh, then in the Diocese of South Carolina starting in 2000. Becky supported us through law school, and since then has been a wonderful homemaker, mother, wife, business manager (we own a rental home near the beach), and an amazing partner in parish ministry. Our children were born in 1976 (Carrie), and 1978 (Paul), and we have 6 grandchildren. I served as rector at Prince George Winyah in Georgetown for 16 years until my retirement in 2016, and in the years since retirement I’ve served as priest in charge or interim rector in six parishes (All Saints, Florence; St. John’s, Florence; Trinity, Myrtle Beach; Holy Comforter, Sumter; St. Paul’s, Conway; and Church of the Holy Cross, Sullivans Island) for a total of about 52 months. We’re living in Kingstree, SC, when we’re not living in a church rectory. Becky and I were born again in Christ and baptized in the Holy Spirit in an Episcopal church in 1982, which was the start of a 10-year process through which the Lord gradually but irresistibly called us to leave law practice and begin full-time Christian ministry. We are eternally thankful to Him for His love, mercy, and grace, and for opening the way for us to serve in His church, and for His constant presence and many gifts, including a deep love for His Word and His people.
