A native of Nashville, Tennessee. Ordained in 1978. A graduate of The University of The South at Sewanee (English major, History minor) and Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria. 

He served as associate rector of Grace-Luke’s in Memphis for seven years; was rector of Church of the Advent in the Mississippi Delta for four years; rector of Trinity, Pinopolis, SC for nine and a half years; and rector of Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant for 11 ½ years retiring in 2010 after 32 years of full-time ministry.

Since (semi-)retirement, he and his wife, Annetta, have made their church home at St. Michael’s, Charleston, where Ted has served on staff in various part time capacities. 

In addition to supporting the work of ministry at St. Michael’s Ted has done interim work in Bermuda, St. John’s, John’s Island, and several stints at Church of The Good Shepherd, West Ashley where he lately served a year as interim rector.

Music has always been an adjunct part of his ministry. He has written and released four recording projects; and in earlier years traveled doing “teaching concerts” in parishes and diocesan venues as well as being worship and workshop leader at numerous conferences primarily in the southeastern United States. 

Ted and Annetta have a son and a daughter and three grandchildren.  Annetta has recently retired as a surgical nurse after 45 years.
