The Rev. David Rowe
Porter Gaud
843-697-3254
David Rowe is the Lower School Chaplain at Porter-Gaud School. His life pilgrimage began in Britain and has so far included such milestones as a Biblical Studies BA (from the University of Sheffield), several years serving with Youth With A Mission (in Zimbabwe, England, and New Zealand), and writing a book called The Proverbs of Middle-earth about the wisdom and worldviews of JRR Tolkien’s invented peoples. Fortunate beyond words to marry into a Lebanese-American family in Charleston, he and his wife, Maria, have three children and seven chickens. He graduated from Trinity School for Ministry in 2023 and was ordained to the priesthood in May 2024. David has led worship music for 25 years, including at St. Michael’s, Charleston; St. John’s Parish, Johns Island; and Good Shepherd, West Ashley; and he has served at Porter-Gaud since August 2020. David became a Christian on February 26, 1986, when he was four, and Jesus has never let him down.
