Fr. Jacob and April were raised Baptist and became Anglicans in 2016. Jacob grew up in Memphis and is from a large family of eight children. He was homeschooled until college and played competitive tennis growing up. He went on to play college tennis at Cedarville University and North Greenville University. Since childhood, Fr. Jacob felt a deep affection for his churches and experienced a lifelong desire to pursue pastoral ministry. This led him to major in Pre-Seminary Bible and Christian Studies at both universities he attended. Jacob married his wonderful wife April in 2011, and they have two lovely young daughters at home, Zoe and Lydia. Their oldest daughter, Jovie, went to be with the Lord in 2016. He taught tennis for several years in his early twenties and then worked as a residential realtor for several years until the family moved to frigid Nashotah, Wisconsin, where they spent three years as Jacob completed his Masters of Divinity in May, 2023. Jacob was a member of the ACNA Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy during seminary and was ordained to the diaconate (6/30/2022) and priesthood (5/17/2023) by the Rt. Rev. Derek Jones. He remains a licensed chaplain with the JAFC. Jacob still loves tennis and has found a new love in disc golf since seminary. He and the girls enjoy going to the movies, fall weather, and love Christmas. Jacob is also experienced in leading worship in several churches and loves all kinds of worship music. Fr. Jacob and April are excited to be part of the OSA family where he serves as Family Pastor. You can connect with Fr. Jacob here: frjacob@oldstandrews.org.
