Join the Daughters of the King, All Saints Florence chapter, as they seek to find God’s silence during the noise of Advent. Kathy Campbell, retired pastor, hospice chaplain, certified spiritual leader, will be leading the morning. Advent Teaching Series
St. John’s Church, Florence, December 5, 12 & 19
This Advent, St. John’s will offer a weekly teaching series similar to the Lenten lessons they hold in the spring. All are welcome to join them as they prepare for the Christmas season. Each session will begin with Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:45 a.m. Teaching will begin by 12:10 p.m. December 5: Jesus as Fulfillment of the Old Testament Prophecy presented by the Rev. Bill Owens, Rector, St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Camden, SC.; December 12: Jesus as Immanuel, God with us presented by the Rev. The King’s Counterpoint; a Christmas Through The Ages V
St. Philip’s Church, Charleston, December 16, 3 p.m.
Join the King’s Counterpoint for a free concert that traces the history of music at Christmas through the ages from the 8th century, through the Medieval and Renaissance eras and on to the 21st century. Composers include Hildegard of Bingen, Philip the Chancellor, Victoria, Tavener and Lauridsen. Learn more.
Drive-Through Nativity
Church of the Resurrection, Surfside, December 16 & 17, 5-8:30 p.m.
This holiday event will tell you the story of the birth of Christ using a cast of over 50 people and live animals including camels, donkeys, goats, llamas, sheep and calves. Guests will see familiar scenes from the Bible, including impactful tableaus of a busy Bethlehem street, the traditional manger scene and perhaps the most striking, the singing angel tree. Our prayer is that people will be so touched by what they see, they will want to bring families and friends to help them understand the real meaning of Christmas. Learn more.

7th Annual Christmas Program
Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, Beaufort, December 18, 6 p.m.
Holy Trinity Classical Christian School invites the community to the 7th Annual Christmas Program titled “O Come, O Come Emmanuel and Ransom Captive Israel,” on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 6 pm at Community Bible Church. This is a Christmas musical celebration including traditional carol singing and Scriptural readings featuring Holy Trinity students in grades K-11. Throughout the program will be many opportunities for congregational participation in the singing of our most beloved Christmas carols. The event is modeled after the traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, England. The event is free.
