Matthew Rivers to be Ordained to the Priesthood November 27

God willing, on November 27, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at Saint John’s Chapel, 18 Hanover Street in Charleston, SC, the Rt. Rev. Mark Lawrence will ordain Matthew Rivers to the sacred order of priests. Clergy are to wear red stoles. There will be a luncheon reception following.

Matthew was ordained to the transitional diaconate on May 29, 2018 and serves as the Rector of St. John’s Chapel. He was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He came to know Jesus Christ at the early age of 10 and began his walk with Christ then. Under the discipleship of the Rev. Dallas Wilson he discerned the call to ordained ministry. Matthew and Henrietta graduated from Trinity School for Ministry in 2018.
