Lenten Resources

Words "Lenten Resources" on sand background

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Collect for the Fifthh Sunday in Lent (BCP, 2019)

Our churches and partners are creating their own Lenten devotionals to aid in the observance of a Holy Lent. Download copies here:

The Church of the Holy Spirit on Daniel Island has created a Lenten devotional entitled Prayers on the Way.

Description: “Each year, the Season of Lent invites us to slow down, reflect, and turn our hearts again toward God. To help guide us in this journey, members of our parish have written a daily devotional for the 40 days of Lent. These reflections are personal, prayerful, and rooted in Scripture—offering encouragement, honesty, and hope for the season.”

Saint James on James Island has created a Lenten devotional entitled “Tell out my soul; give my spirit voice.”

Description: “Worshiping through Music: Music has always been important to mankind, regardless of culture, socioeconomic status, access to instruments, and musical training and talents… God used music throughout the Bible to praise, call people to worship, soothe emotions, celebrate victories, and mourn losses. It does the same for us today. Lyrics, melodies, and harmonies come together to enhance our relationships with God. Christians adore, supplicate, and testify through music….May you be inspired and blessed as you read the entries of your fellow parishioners professing the meanings they have found in Christian music.”

M25I has created a Lenten devotional entitled Light in the Darkness.

Description: “Our theme for 2026 is “The Light in the Darkness.” We’re using George MacDonald as a kind of “Lenten storyteller-in-residence”; his novels give us vivid, memorable pictures of Jesus’ heart for the poor in a real historical setting the Industrial Revolution), then we lay those pictures next to Scripture and our own communities so that churches can see, feel, and practice a whole gospel-one where faith in Christ naturally spills over into concrete mercy, justice, and neighbor-love today.”
