Hosts Needed for International Guests this September

Diocese Hosts International Partners

Beginning on Thursday, September 15th, the Diocese will begin welcoming multiple international guests. They are coming as participants in the New Wineskins Conference being held at Ridgecrest, North Carolina September 22-26. Historically, our diocese has provided funds to allow for scholarships of international guests to attend New Wineskins. This began back in 2010 and continued through 2019. While this year’s scholarship recipients were not funded by a diocesan grant, we have still chosen to host these guests in the diocese for some days either side of their participation in the conference because of the impact that this opportunity has made in the past in building strategic missional partnerships among fellow Anglicans worldwide.

Many of our expected guests are in need of host churches for opportunities to either preach, teach or share about their own homes and ministries. Eight of our expected guests will arrive in time to accept opportunities to be in area churches on Sunday, September 18th. They are in need of hosts for housing from the time of their arrival on either September 15th or 16th, until at least Monday the 18th when some limited availability exists at St. Christopher.

These guests include the following:

The Rev. Dr. Emad Basilios, Archdeacon, Diocese of Egypt, Province of Alexandria
The Rev. Dr. Josphine Wanjiku Ngahu, All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. David Mutisya, Diocese of Garessa, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. Gaddiel Katango Lenini, Diocese of Kajiado, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. Julius Ceasar Nina, Diocese of West Lango, Uganda
The Rt. Rev. Samuel Egesa, Diocese of Bukudi, Uganda
The Rt. Rev. Wilson Kitara, Diocese of Kitgum, Uganda
The Rt. Rev. William Bahemuka Mugenyi, Diocese of Boga, Congo

Following the conference, many of these guests and others will return to our diocese with most remaining through October 3rd, allowing them to accept opportunities yet again from area churches to preach, teach and share. This group includes:

The Rev. Jean Claude Ngiyimbere, Alpha Burundi, Diocese of Bujumbura, Burundi
The Rev. Jeremiah Maet Paul, St. Frumentius, Diocese of the Horn of Africa, Province of Alexandria
The Rev. Dr. Emad Basilios, Archdeacon, Diocese of Egypt, Province of Alexandria
The Rev. Dr. Josphine Wanjiku Ngahu, All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. David Mutisya, Diocese of Garessa, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. Gaddiel Katango Lenini, Diocese of Kajiado, Kenya
The Rt. Rev. Julius Ceasar Nina, Diocese of West Lango, Uganda
