We give thanks for the life and ministry of the Rev. Canon Michael T. Malone. Mike died on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Michael Bye and The Rev. William D. “Bill” Oldland officiating. The family will receive friends at a joyful reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
Ordained in 1962, Canon Malone served churches in North Carolina, Florida, and South Carolina, including 14 years as rector of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Hartsville, SC. Prior to his retirement, Mike served for 14 years as Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of South Carolina under Bishop Edward L. Salmon, Jr. For many years he oversaw the training program for vocational deacons in the diocese. Please keep his wife, Ann Huntley Malone, their family, loved ones, and all who mourn his death in your prayers.
