Twig David Sargent to the Sacred Order of Deacons on Saturday\, May 2\, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort\, South Carolina. \nA native of Lake Jackson\, Texas\, the Rev. Twig Sargent earned a Bachelor of Music from Texas Tech University\, a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota\, and an M.Div. from Covenant Theological Seminary. He came to our Diocese from the Presbyterian Church in America\, where he served for 13 years as a Navy Chaplain. Twig and his wife Joanna are members of St. Helena’s in Beaufort. He serves on staff as Pastoral Associate for Men’s Ministry\, Pastoral Care\, and Global and Local Missions. Married for 26 years\, Twig and Joanna have four children and a daughter-in-law. \nView the invitation.

Tom Cannon earned a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina and an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary. He comes from the Presbyterian Church in America\, where for 36 years\, his ministry included work on the university campus\, parish ministry\, and heading up Reformed University Fellowship for the PCA in places such as Australia\, New York City\, and Savannah. \nTom and his wife Dawn are currently members of Saint Helena’s in Beaufort. He serves as a Humane Letters teacher and Assistant Chaplain at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School. DESCRIPTION:By the Grace of God and the Consent of the People\, Bishop Chip Edgar\, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina\, will ordain The Rev. Emil Henry Klatt\, III\, to the Sacred Order of Priests on February 9\, 2023\, at 6 p.m. at the Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort. \nEmil comes to the ACNA and the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina from the Lutheran Church (ELCA)\, where he served as an ordained pastor for over 20 years. Prior to attending seminary\, he served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps\, flying the A-6 Intruder\, among other adventures\, and retired after 20 years of service to enter seminary. He is a graduate of Culver Academy; Clemson University\, with a BA in Secondary Education (history); California State University\, with an MA (history); Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (Columbia\, SC)\, with an MDiv; and Ashland Theological Seminary\, Ashland University (Ashland\, Ohio)\, with a DMin (Pastoral Counseling). He spent most of his pastorate in Ohio\, and was most recently pastor of Christ Lutheran Church\, Hilton Head\, before retiring in 2019 and moving across the county to his hometown of Beaufort. He serves the congregation of St. Helena\, Beaufort. He and his wife\, Barbara\, have two grown daughters and six grandchildren. \n  \nView the invitation.
