SUMMARY:Be Still & Know God Contemplative Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Are you longing to get away and get quiet so that you might become more aware of the presence of God? Then please join us for this contemplative retreat led by the Rev. Elizabeth Bumpas. This weekend retreat does not include a lot of teaching…it’s simply about creating space for silence and solitude to connect with the Lord. The group will gather together in the mornings and evenings for Scripture meditation and there is a long period of silence (no talking) on Saturday afternoon. Come walk the beach or hike in the beautiful maritime forest as you devote an entire weekend to seeking the face of God. Nothing pleases Him more. The retreat will end Sunday after lunch with Holy Communion. There are only 10 spaces available. Learn more.

SUMMARY:Cleanup Day at St. Christopher
DESCRIPTION:Clean up Day at St. Christopher Sponsored by Cursillo\, April 17 \nWho wouldn’t love to spend the day at St Christopher Camp and Conference Center! The Cursillo community will be hosting a cleanup day at April 17 at 9 a.m. We need as many hands as possible. All are welcome! (Even if you’ve never been on a Cursillo). We’ll be doing everything from yard maintenance to cleaning and polishing both chapels.  The more people we have\, the quicker we can get the work done and the quicker you can be rocking on the deck or walking the beach in that little piece of heaven on earth. If you can join us please RSVP to Jim Gonnella. If you have yard equipment you can bring\, that would be awesome!  We will have a list from the camp as to their greatest needs down to their wants. This will be a great way to give back\, help the camp\, see your Cursillo family and spend some time in God’s paradise!

SUMMARY:Cursillo Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Three-Day Cursillo Weekend\nThe Cursillo weekend brings together a diverse group of Anglicans to share the richness of many modes of worship and to broaden each one’s appreciation for our Church. Lay people conduct the weekend with two or three members of the clergy functioning as spiritual advisors. Cursillo presumes that those who attend are already well grounded in the faith. It is not intended to be a conversion experience but an enriching and deepening of what is already there. It often provides new insights into our faith as well as fostering ministry among lay people. \nThe weekend begins Thursday evening spent in the Chapel with meditations\, discussions\, and Compline. Then blessed silence is kept until after the worship on Friday morning. After breakfast participants are assigned to table groups for the weekend. The three days are filled with talks and group discussions with emphasis on the doctrine of Grace\, the Sacraments\, and the great Cursillo tripod: Piety\, Study\, and Action. Plus there is fellowship\, singing\, good food\, and time for privacy\, meditation\, prayer\, and walks. Eucharist is celebrated each day. \n  \nLearn more.

SUMMARY:DOK Spring Retreat
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The DOK Spring Retreat (which is open to all women) will be held April 5-7 at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center. The Rev. Summer Gross will be the retreat leader. \nAbout our retreat leader\, The Rev. Summer Gross\nSummer Gross is an Anglican priest\, a writer\, a homeschool mom\, and very-much-in-love with her husband of 22 years\, The Rev. Canon Andrew Gross\, Archbishop Foley’s communications director. \nAndrew and Summer had an Aquila and Priscilla ministry for ten years in a parish along the coast of Lake Michigan. These days she spends the afternoons doing spiritual direction with women around the world\, holding their stories and bringing them to Jesus. \nShe is the Director of Soul Care at Holy Cross Cathedral in Loganville GA and leads Healing and Prayer ministries. \nSummer spent many years paralyzed by anxiety and isolated by a swirl of toxic thoughts. As she broke free\, she began studying inner healing and neuroscience and offers a small group where she witnesses one person after another transformed by the risen Christ. She’s passionate about giving practical ideas to help women root and establish in God’s love so that they can live out of their identity as God’s beloved. \nAt the “Be Still and Know that He is God” Retreat\, Summer will lead us deeper in our walk exploring… Finding the peace of God through praying the Scriptures\, Cultivating stillness in a world addicted to busy\, How clinging to the Presence of God takes us through spaces of suffering and empowers our prayer life\, How a person saturated with the Presence can provide the good news the world needs\, How we can serve out of Christ’s energy and be filled with the compassion of Jesus. \nTogether Summer and Andrew and their three kids (13\,12\, and 9)\, love to tent camp\, kayak\, and eat their way around the world. While she craves the barbecue of Atlanta where they live\, Summer is completely sure that heaven is a long table overlooking the Tuscan countryside. \nHer words and lectio divina videos find a home at aThirstforGod.com and on instagram at @revsummerjoy. \nSummer Joy Gross \nAThirstforGod.com \nSlow Word Movement \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.” Col 3:16\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI believe the more rooted we are in God’s abundant love\, the more we are able to serve with abandon. \nContact  mtrsummer@gmail.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Download Registration Form” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fadosc.org%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2019%2F02%2Fsr_dok_spring_retreat.pdf|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
