DESCRIPTION:The Three-Day Cursillo Weekend\nThe Cursillo weekend brings together a diverse group of Anglicans to share the richness of many modes of worship and to broaden each one’s appreciation for our Church. Lay people conduct the weekend with two or three members of the clergy functioning as spiritual advisors. Cursillo presumes that those who attend are already well grounded in the faith. It is not intended to be a conversion experience but an enriching and deepening of what is already there. It often provides new insights into our faith as well as fostering ministry among lay people. \nThe weekend begins Thursday evening spent in the Chapel with meditations\, discussions\, and Compline. Then blessed silence is kept until after the worship on Friday morning. After breakfast participants are assigned to table groups for the weekend. The three days are filled with talks and group discussions with emphasis on the doctrine of Grace\, the Sacraments\, and the great Cursillo tripod: Piety\, Study\, and Action. Plus there is fellowship\, singing\, good food\, and time for privacy\, meditation\, prayer\, and walks. Eucharist is celebrated each day. \nCursillo #192\, July 13-16\, 2023

With these changes (and changes of ownership of St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center)\, you have likely heard that we opted to hold ONE combined Middle School and Senior High retreat this fall. We selected a venue in Garden City. Unfortunately\, that venue was subsequently heavily damaged in the recent hurricane and is now unavailable for our use. With this recent news and the proximity of the camp date\, the youth ministers of the diocese have met and made the decision to forego having a Fall retreat this year.  We should be offering a camp experience (or experiences) for kids in the Spring\, and we will keep you posted.  Respectfully\, \nThe Rev. Encounter the presence of God as you pause to see and listen anew to the Word of God in scripture in lectio divina and creation in visio divina (holy reading and holy seeing). We will gather for sessions in the morning\, early afternoon\, and evening to pray and reflect together on scripture. Each session opens out into quiet times for rest\, further reflection\, walking on the beach or on one of our woodland trails. We will have a list from the camp as to their greatest needs down to their wants. As always\, this is a great way to give back\, get to see your Cursillo family and be the servants that Jesus called us to be! The workday will run from 9am to 3pm but we welcome any hours you can support. We need as many hands as possible; let’s build on the successes of our last two workdays. DESCRIPTION:The Three-Day Cursillo Weekend\nThe Cursillo weekend brings together a diverse group of Anglicans to share the richness of many modes of worship and to broaden each one’s appreciation for our Church. Lay people conduct the weekend with two or three members of the clergy functioning as spiritual advisors. Cursillo presumes that those who attend are already well grounded in the faith. It is not intended to be a conversion experience but an enriching and deepening of what is already there. It often provides new insights into our faith as well as fostering ministry among lay people. \nThe weekend begins Thursday evening spent in the Chapel with meditations\, discussions\, and Compline. Then blessed silence is kept until after the worship on Friday morning. After breakfast participants are assigned to table groups for the weekend. The three days are filled with talks and group discussions with emphasis on the doctrine of Grace\, the Sacraments\, and the great Cursillo tripod: Piety\, Study\, and Action. Plus there is fellowship\, singing\, good food\, and time for privacy\, meditation\, prayer\, and walks.
