This was printed in the e-newsletter of Church of our Saviour in January of 2023: The Rev. Tom Hample has accepted the position of Associate Rector at the Church of Our Saviour. "I am thrilled that God has called Fr. Tom to help lead our congregation and to connect to those who do not yet belong," stated the Very Rev. Karl Burns, Rector of Our Saviour. "He brings many gifts and talents to our ministry team and will be a tremendous blessing as we continue our call to make disciples who make disciples." Before accepting the call to serve at Our Saviour, Fr. Tom was the corporate chaplain for ALG Senior/Affinity Living Group and served Sunday as an associate priest Worship Team Leader at Holy Trinity, Windermere Anglican Church. Fr. Tom worked at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center for nine years, providing administrative and operational support. His duties included managing all IT equipment, training staff, and purchasing and installing all IT and AV equipment. While at St. Christopher, Fr. Tom also was the staff worship leader. Outreach is integral to Fr. Tom's calling to the priesthood. He served five years as the pastor/lay ministry leader for the Bridge church, a multi-church, ecumenical street ministry in downtown Charleston. This ministry focused on providing worship, meals, and pastoral care for the homeless, people from shelters and public housing, and "passersby." From Fr. Tom: "My family and I are very excited to join the Church of Our Savior church family. Our Savior has been a church home away from home for our family, as my wife Kelli and I filled in many times, leading the praise/worship team over the years. I look forward to working alongside and learning from Father Karl as he continues leading us all to connect to Christ and our community in this next season of ministry." The Church of Our Saviour has also called Teri Hiers to serve as the Parish Administrator. Teri previously served at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center as the director of Student ministry for over eleven years. The Very Rev. Karl Burns, Rector of Our Saviour, stated, "Teri is a gifted and creative administrator, a great communicator, and I have watched her work with a wide variety of people at St. Christopher. I look forward to working with her and how the Holy Spirit will use her as we continue in our vision of connecting to Christ and to the community," Teri has been married to John for 31 years and has two grown daughters and one new granddaughter! They are faithful members of St. John's Anglican Parish and love spending time with their family, cooking, reading, and learning how to be grandparents. Teri commented, "I am excited about this new chapter of ministry in my life and look forward to serving Our Saviour and Fr. Karl."
