Jason Varnadore will be ordained to the Priesthood by Bishop Chip Edgar on Tuesday\, September 6 at 6:00 pm at St. David’s Anglican Church which is worshipping at Wesley United Methodist Church (309 Greene Street in Cheraw). Jason serves as the Rector of St. David’s. A South Carolina native\, raised in Powdersville\, he senses a special calling to rural and small-town ministry and is delighted to have been called to serve at St. David’s. He received his BA from North Greenville University\, majoring in linguistics and theology and received his Mdiv  from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. In light of that\, we are having a Diocesan Beach Day to celebrate and give thanks for all God has done in our midst in this place. \nDiocesan Beach Day at St. Christopher\nSaturday September 10\, 2022\nBeginning at 10 a.m.\nEucharist at 4 p.m. \nAll are invited to a St. Christopher Beach Day on Saturday\, September 10 starting at 10:00 am. \nPlease join us for fellowship and fun with camp friends old and new. \nOur day will conclude with a Eucharist at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Palms. \nPlease bring beach chairs and a picnic lunch for your family to enjoy on the beach. \nWe look forward to seeing everyone as we celebrate together the years of faithful ministry at this place which has meant so much to our diocese. Our day will close as we gather for music and worship in the Chapel of the Palms. Rivers holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity School for Ministry and has the daily privilege of sharing the Gospel of Christ to students at Porter Gaud School as the Middle School Chaplain. In addition to teaching and pastoral care at the school\, Henrietta serves as an Intern at the Church of the Holy Cross\, Sullivan’s and Daniel Islands and also serves at St. John’s Chapel\, Charleston where her husband\, The Rev. Matthew Rivers\, is the Rector. Henrietta and Matthew have two adult children: Kariesha Richardson and Herbert Jordan Drayton. She serves on the board of the Anglican Women of South Carolina\, and served on the Bishop’s Search Committee for the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina. View the invitation.
