This experience prompted him to co-author The Art of Neighboring\, which was published by Baker Books. He speaks locally and nationally encouraging leaders to collaborate for the good of their cities. Before founding CityUnite\, Dave served as a pastor for 10 years at Foothills Community Church and The Next Level Church. He graduated from Colorado State University where he studied history\, economics\, and education. Born and raised in Louisville\, KY\, Jeremy came to Charleston in 2004. He came to a life with Christ after two visits to Saint James at the encouragement of his wife. Under the discipleship of the Rev. Arthur Jenkins\, he discerned the call to ordained ministry. Jeremy graduated from Trinity School for Ministry in 2018. He and his wife\, Jessica\, have three sons\, Will (11)\, Ben (9)\, and Hayes (2).

He was born and raised in Charleston\, SC. He came to know Jesus Christ at the early age of 10 and began his walk with Christ then. Under the discipleship of the Rev. Dallas Wilson he discerned the call to ordained ministry. Matthew and Henrietta graduated from Trinity School for Ministry in 2018.

DESCRIPTION:Please join Deacon Roger and Joanne Griffin on November 17\, 6:00 pm at Holy Trinity Windermere where Deacon Roger currently serves. They will be honoring them with a gathering/fundraiser dinner. Denise Cox\, Associate Director of  SAMS\, will be the featured speaker. This will give you a chance to learn more about their sending agency SAMS and more about the Griffin’s future ministry plans in Mexico. \nRoger will make another trip to Aguascalientes in Mexico just after Thanksgiving for another intensive training class with Peter Sholl\, Director of MOCLAM (Moore College of Latin America). This trip will also be an opportunity for him to take a couple of extra suitcases\, the first load of personal items they’ll need when they move there in January of 2019.

Canon Jim Lewis: \nDear Fellow Clergy\, \nThe Diocese has made arrangement for a special clergy webinar for our deaneries\, entitled “Shepherding in Uncertain Times.” I believe we would all agree that is an apt description of the context for the leadership of all of us today. Leadership under such circumstances has particular challenges and this webinar will explore some of these\, and how to effectively identity and address them. \nThe presentation is under the auspices of the American Anglican Council and will be led by the Rev. Mark Eldredge and the Rev. Ron McCrary. Mark and Ron will give an approximately one hour presentation\, providing resources for reflection beforehand and discussion afterwards within each deanery clericus gathering. \nEach deanery will provide a host site for this presentation on Wednesday\, November 14 at 10:00 am. Mary Ellen Doran as Rector of St. David’s\, Cheraw and St. Paul’s\, Bennettsville\, on Wednesday\, November 7 at 6 p.m. at St. David’s\, Cheraw. Bishop Mark Lawrence will preside at the institution and the Rev. Arthur Jenkins will be the preacher. A reception will follow. \n“We’re very excited\,” said Doran\, about her calling to the two churches. “We know this is where God has called us and are blessed to be here. We have been warmly welcomed.” Prior to her calling to the two churches\, Doran served as an Assistant at Church of Our Saviour on Johns Island\, and served for many years in lay ministry at Saint James Church on James Island. \nDoran is the first full-time permanent rector for each church in several years. “Even with that fact\, we are amazed how well both churches have been able to continue functioning\, and caring for each other”. Keep Doran and her family as well as the parishioners of both churches in your prayers.

SUMMARY:Kincaid Ordination
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, October 27 at 10:30 a.m. the Rt. Rev. Mark Lawrence\, Bishop of South Carolina\, will ordain Korey Kincaid to the Sacred Order of Priests at St. Paul’s\, Summerville.  Korey\, who was ordained a deacon on April 28\, currently serves as the Director of Youth Ministries at St. Paul’s.  Originally from a small farm community in Illinois\, Korey came to South Carolina in 2014.  Though raised in a non-denominational tradition he was always drawn to the liturgy.  Through God’s sovereign grace he met the Rev. Greg Smith (who is now the Rector of Trinity Church Myrtle Beach) on a short-term mission trip to Uganda\, and the rest is history.  He received his Master’s of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Seminary in Chicago\, Illinois in 2003 and began full time ministry thereafter.  He\, and his wife\, Jamie\, have four children\, Grace (14)\, Trinity (12)\, Anna (11)\, and Kristian (10). \nView the invitation. \n
