SUMMARY:Diocesan Communicators' Gathering
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our next Communicators’ Gathering will be held Thursday\, February 15\, 2024 and we’ll be focusing on Canva.  Canva is the design application many of us use to create graphics for our email newsletters\, social media posts\, websites\, publications\, and more. \nYou’ll need to bring your laptop because this will be a hands-on workshop with different people teaching while “floaters” are available to help those who get stuck. \nOur goal is for you to leave with something you can put into practice immediately. \nNow those of you who are seasoned Canva users may be thinking\, “Is there a reason for me to come?” Though we are going to start with baby steps we’re also going to incorporate animation\, videos\, talk about the “do’s and don’ts” and demonstrate how you can work in Canva as a team with others on your staff.  If that’s too basic\, come for the fellowship and to encourage others. \nWe’ll meet from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Atrium at St. Paul’s\, Summerville.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Register now.” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shelbygiving.com%2FApp%2FForm%2F5476cd8e-171d-4a7a-8203-c277c6bf5c7a|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Women's Annual Gathering
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We are planning our Annual Gathering for May 4 at Christ the King in Pawley’s Island\, 9-2. The speaker will be Joy Mast and she’ll speak on “Delighting our Hearts in God – Rather than Overindulging.” \nWhen life is difficult or dissatisfying\, it’s easy to check out and seek pleasure through temporary escapes like food\, wine\, shopping\, and social media. However\, these little habits and patterns of overindulgence can often be a signal that we are not filling ourselves in the way God intended. They simply can’t satisfy us. \n  \nCome to this year’s Anglican Women Gathering and learn how your daily diversions may be pointing to a deeper longing in your soul. Our speaker\, Joy Mast\, author of Set Free & Satisfied: A Grace-Filled Guide to Stop Overeating and Start Fully Living\, will share how her compulsive overeating led to a profound encounter with God\, and how you can experience this intimacy as well. You’ll learn how to identify your own patterns of seeking comfort apart from God\, why God is the one who offers us true\, long-term satisfaction\, and how to replace your bad habits with life-giving moments that refresh and sustain your soul. \nThe cost of the event is $25 per person and lunch is provided. Registration will close on April 29. If you have any questions contact Brenda Rindge.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Register Now” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shelbygiving.com%2FApp%2FForm%2F0e1180de-d15b-40ca-80f2-0b6fc30350b6|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Ordination of The Rev. Collin Reed to the Priesthood
DESCRIPTION:By the Grace of God and the Consent of the People\, Bishop Chip Edgar\, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina\, will ordain The Rev. Collin Barrett Reed to the Sacred Order of Priests on Saturday\, October 4\, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church in Sewickley\, PA. \nHaving received his Master of Divinity from Trinity Anglican Seminary in May of 2024\, Collin began serving full time as Assistant Rector for Pastoral Care at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sewickley\, PA\, on June 1st of this year.  Before answering the call to full time vocational ministry\, he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University and had a 20-year career in the retail beverage industry.  His wife Shannon\, a postulant to the vocational diaconate\, is the former Children’s Ministry Director at St. Paul’s Anglican in Summerville\, and the current Minister to Children and Families at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sewickley\, PA. \nCollin and Shannon have two children\, Jackson (22)\, a senior in the Professional Golf Management program at Campbell University in North Carolina\, and Olivia (19) a sophomore psychology student at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania.  Collin enjoys serving in church\, hanging out with family\, hosting friends\, exploring western PA\, and golfing when he has a chance.  While on a quest to find the best food in Pittsburgh\, Collin discovered that Yinzers makes the world’s best French fries! \nCollin loves to visit with people and hear their stories of life and their faith\, hope\, reconciliation\, and redemption found in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. \nView the invitation.

SUMMARY:Clergy Retreat
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dear Fellow Clergy\, \nYour Clergy Retreat Committee has planned one of the most exciting retreats ever! We will return to beautiful Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock\, NC\, surrounded by Western North Carolina’s restful mountains. We will be welcoming The Very Revd Dr. Bryan Hollon as the Keynote Speaker. \nSingle rooms for Monday and Tuesday nights will be on a first come\, first served basis before we will begin doubling up. In addition to lodging\, your registration will cover meals from dinner on Monday through lunch on Wednesday. Check-in will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. \nAs an added bonus this year\, clergy whose schedules allow have an option of extending our retreat by joining the Bishop and Dr. Hollon on Sunday around a late-afternoon campfire at Bonclarken for fellowship. After the fire\, everyone will head into Flat Rock to dinner for “BBQ with Bryan & the Bishop.” Please note that dinner will be Dutch Treat. \nReserving and paying for a room for Sunday night will be each person’s responsibility\, and Bonclarken will work with us so that early arrivals will be placed into the rooms that we will have already assigned for Monday and Tuesday. Contact Amanda Carnley at amanda@bonclarken.org to reserve your room (for Sunday night only). Be sure to identify yourself as ADOSC Clergy. Breakfast and lunch on Monday will be on your own around Flat Rock\, as the dining room won’t serve until dinnertime Monday. \nPlease clear your calendars and join the fun and fellowship! \n  \nLearn more.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Register here.” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shelbygiving.com%2FApp%2FForm%2Fd41591b5-ee53-4cf1-9fff-8fc741027a3d|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
