Not only has he ably led our diocese through difficult and trying times\, he has continued to keep before us his vision of “Making Biblical Anglicans for a Global Age”. His boundless energy has strengthened us and enabled us to flourish as a diocese. \nIt is customary to express our profound thanks for his ministry with a special monetary parting gift. As we approach his farewell celebration in February 2022\, it becomes timely for us to gather up a special “Bishops Purse” for Bishop Lawrence. We ask that gifts be sent to the Diocesan office to the attention of Nancy Armstrong\, or you may give online at www.adosc.org. All checks should be made payable to the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina and earmarked for this special purpose. \nIt is our intention that this be a true gift to Bishop Lawrence\, and not taxable income to him\, therefore contributions to this fund are not tax-deductible.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Give to Bishop’s Purse” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shelbygiving.com%2FApp%2FForm%2Ff42e0b66-3f6a-4620-b80a-9cafac4cda19|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Ordination of Josh Lake
DESCRIPTION:God willing\, Bishop David Bryan (South Carolina Area Bishop for the Diocese of the Carolinas) will ordain Josh Lake to the sacred order of priests at 7:00 pm on Wednesday\, January 19 at The Chapel of The Church of the Cross\, Bluffton. \nJosh is blessed to have been born into a Christian home\, with parents who ensured the Church was a priority. He and Bethany are passionate about missions and discipleship and are deeply convinced that the Gospel is the only hope for those who are lost and perishing around the world and in our neighborhoods. A child of the Southern Baptist Convention\, Josh learned from them a deep reverence for Scripture and its place of primacy in the life of the Church and the believer. Those formative years in Sunday School\, VBS\, and congregational worship\, time at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary\, and opportunities to pastor in different SBC contexts have left an indelible imprint on his life and ministry. \nJosh and Bethany began making their way down the Canterbury Trail three years ago\, and after serving SBC churches in pastoral ministry for the last 17 years\, Josh\, Bethany\, and their four children are thankful to have finally found a home in the Anglican Church in North America. \n  \nView invitation

SUMMARY:Ordination of Henrietta Rivers
DESCRIPTION:Henrietta Rivers\, January 15 \nGod willing\, Henrietta Rivers will be ordained to the transitional diaconate at 3 p.m. on Saturday\, January 15\, by Bishop Mark Lawrence at St. John’s Chapel\, Charleston. \nHenrietta Rivers holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity School for Ministry and has the daily privilege of sharing the Gospel of Christ to students at Porter Gaud School as the Middle School Chaplain.  In addition to teaching and pastoral care at the school\, Henrietta serves at St. John’s Chapel\, Charleston where her husband\, The Rev. Matthew Rivers\, is the Rector. At St. John’s she is a Bible study teacher and women’s ministry leader\, as well as leader of the parish’s prayer and inner healing ministries. Henrietta’s greatest realization is that she is a vessel of Christ\, to be used as He desires. She says this takes the pressure off presenting the Word of God. “I’m not responsible for the Work of Scripture. My only job is to present the truth in its purest form; God does the rest.” Henrietta and Matthew have two children\, Kariesha\, 23\, and Herbert Jordan\, 25. She serves on the boards of New Wineskins\, Florence Crittendon Charleston\, and Anglican Women of South Carolina\, and on the Bishop’s Search Committee for the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina. \nView the invitation.

SUMMARY:Ordination of Taylor Daniel
DESCRIPTION:God willing\, Bishop Mark Lawrence will ordain Taylor Daniel to the priesthood at 11 a.m. on Saturday\, January 15 at St. Michael’s Church\, Charleston.\nTaylor Daniel received a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Seminary in Saint Louis before moving to the lowcountry last January to accept a call as youth minister at St. Michael’s. After completing his discernment process in his former diocese while in Saint Louis\, Taylor was ordained as a transitional deacon on Pentecost Sunday. In his day job (which he’s amazed he gets paid for!) \nTaylor leads the church youth group meetings\, small group bible studies\, and confirmation classes as well as managing acolytes and contributing to the teaching and preaching schedule. By weekend night\, he is an occasional wedding singer with OtherBrother Entertainment. Taylor is an avid reader\, basketball watcher\, and pickup soccer player (as his 5’5 frame makes recreational basketball impractical). His main ministry passions are teaching\, preaching\, and counseling students as they negotiate what it means to follow Jesus in their own hectic and changing lives! Taylor covets your prayers through the remainder of his ordination process and looks forward to many years of faithful labor in the Lord’s vineyard thereafter. \nView invitation.
